Advantages
Nutrient cartons have been successfully used in the membrane filtration method for over 30 years.
Practical and easy to use, nutrient cartons reduce preparation time and simplify many microbiological control procedures.
Microorganisms require the appropriate culture medium for optimal growth.
What are they?
The nutrient cartons are dehydrated, pre-sterilised diculture media placed in a Petri dish and, once rehydrated with 3.0 – 3.5 ml of sterile demineralised (or purified) water, are immediately ready for use.
Shelf Life
The standard NPS package contains 50 or 100 nutrient cartons, individually placed in a Petri dish and sterilised in ten sealed aluminium bags containing ten plates each.
This special packaging protects against changes in temperature and humidity while maintaining the quality of the medium for up to 24 months.
Validity of tests
In addition to the European Drinking Water Directive, they comply with all major international standards and recommendations:
- the European and American Pharmacopoeias
- the DIN and ISO standards
- mineral water regulations
- brewing guidelines, such as MEBAC or EBC
- American standards for water and food
- recommendations for the food industry, such as LMBG, NCA and ICUMSA, etc.
