Piramide was founded in 1991, in Varese, from the transformation of the family business established in 1969, and today has a workforce of more than 10 people, most of whom are specialised technicians who have led the company to be a leader in the following activities:
- Distribution of enzymatic detergents for membrane filtration plants;
- Washing service and audit for membrane filtration systems;
- Distribution of enzymatic cleaners for CIP and open surfaces for the food industry;
- BIOREM® washing service and audit for removal of microbiological contaminants;
- Collaboration with Realco for research & development of new applications.
In the last decade, we have witnessed a revolution as understanding of enzyme technology has increased.

Realco is headquartered in Belgium, in Louvain La Neuve, Wallonia, within the science park of the University of Louvain and today has a staff of 60, of which 5 are internal researchers.
It collaborates with the National Institute of Agronomic Research, the first in Europe, based in Paris and with the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL).
In addition, he is a member of the working group of the European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group, a European consortium of food companies, food plant manufacturers, research institutes and public health authorities that aims to raise awareness of food hygiene, contribute to the prevention of food safety problems and thus support the image of the food industry among consumers.
It is also the organiser of the International Biofilm Summit (IBS).
